In light of the Year for Priests which is being celebrated by the Pope this year, a new video has been released that presents the priesthood within the life of the Church and encourages those who already have this vocation.  The DVD, called “Alter Christus”, was made by H.M. Television, which is supported by the E.U.K. Mamie Foundation, in collaboration with the Congregation for the Clergy.Centered on the life of St. John Vianney, the DVD “Alter Christus” opens a window into topics ranging from the Priestly Identity to the Sacraments, from Celibacy to the priestly mission.30 minutes in length and translated into five different languages – Italian, French, English, Spanish and German – the video can be purchased online at www.eukmamie.org.In order to transmit a more complete vision, “Alter Christus” has also included a number of diverse interviews, including: Cardinal Cláudio Hummes, Prefect of the Congregation for the Clergy, Cardinal Antonio Cañizares, Prefect of the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments, Cardinal Julián Herranz, President of the Disciplinary Commission of the Roman Curia, Archbishop Mauro Piacenza, Secretary of the Congregation for the Clergy, Abbot Michael John Zielinski, Vice-President of the Commission for the Cultural Heritage of the Church, Monsignor Guido Marini, Pontifical Master of Ceremonies, and others.In addition to the “Alter Christus” production, the DVD also contains the bonus feature of the complete interviews in their original language, duration: 180 minutes.
