The Catholic Church shares the suffering of the Haitian people, as well as the hopes of the thousands who were saved in Port-au-Prince and who wish to rebuild in spite of the ruins.A few days ago H2onews published an article about the collaborators of Radio and TV Soleil who died in their headquarters during the earthquake. However, we can now happily say that some lives were in fact spared, including the director, Father Jean Desinord and Salesian Brother Mesidor, co-workers of the Peruvian man who was saved, Joseph Luis Carazas Neyra.The Church continues to help the people of Haiti by sending food, blankets, and medical aid through Caritas. 32 parishes and 58 priests are helping those in greatest need, in collaboration with Caritas Port-au-Prince and along with other organizations such as Aid to the Church in Need.
