Benedict XVI: Church is a vessel of God's Goodness
13/11/2009 (0:58)

The service of love never becomes superfluous; charity is needed even in the most advanced societies.
Benedict XVI reiterated this in his address today before the assembly of the Pontifical Council Cor Unum, noting that the proclamation of the Gospel must be united with pastoral attention to the men and women of our age, and every age.

When offering loving care to humanity, the Holy Father stated, the Church feels herself beating in the fullness of love instilled by the Holy Spirit, Who, while helping man free himself from all means of oppression, refreshes and sustains the soul, freeing it from the evils that afflict it.
The source of this love is God Himself, infinite mercy and eternal love.

Through the ecclesial bodies that manage various initiatives and charities, the Church is able to be a channel of the goodness and love of God.
